She attends Farmdale Elementary and loves her teachers and classmates!
Kimberly or "Kimmy" is a 7th grader at El Sereno Middle School and she loves to sing and dance. She was part of a folklorico dance clas for almost a year! She attended the Music Camp this past summer and will be looking to join the Drum Line at her school this comming year.
Emely or Emmy is just starting High School. She attends USC East College Prep HIgh School in Lincoln Heights and loves to be challenged to learn all about technology. She also loves singing and dancing. She is very proud of her school work.

About me
I am originally from Mexico. I grew up in the beautiful Southeastern city of Cancun. I attended school in this city till the 8th grade, and then my family moved to the United States. Since we moved to California, we have moved a few times. I've lived in Lynwood, Paramount, South Gate, Huntington Park, Eagle Rock, Glendale, Boyle Heights, and now in El Sereno .
When I moved to Los Angeles, I didn't speak any English. My journey in the American school system was challenging but I learned a lot. With my family's support, I was able to overcome many adversities!! After only 3 years of being in the United States, I graduated from South Gate High School being 3rd in my class of 1,200 students. I then attended Occidental College, a private university where I studied Biochemistry and Spanish Literature and culture. I was on my way to Medical School... but after being hired to be a bilingual teacher, I fell in love with the organic learning experiences of the classroom. I fell in love with teaching and a new way of learning!!! I attended CalState University Dominguez Hills where I received my Bilingual, Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development Certification in Spanish. I am a science and languages lover!
I love languages and I love helping others learn a new language by using my own experience to connect with them.
I am currently a 2nd grade teacher at Farmdale Elementary School. I am part of the Dual Language Program and will work closely with Mrs. Eckert, my grade level team partner. I have worked with LAUSD in various capacities and at various grade levels. However, I have greatly enjoyed teaching in the Dual Language Program. It has been a time of great learning for me, and it has been thrilling to see the development of bi-literacy firsthand.
